This is one bee box with 10 frames in it. It is not a whole hive. It is one of the boxes a hive is built from.
What you should know
- Langstroth sizeThe normal size in the United States. It stacks with boxes you already own.
- Cedar woodCedar copes with rain and sun better than pine.
- Frames are plasticHard plastic, not wood, with wax on already. Some keepers like wood better, so we are saying it up front.
How to use it
- Stack it on your hive when the box below is nearly full of bees.
- Put the lid back on straight away so rain stays out.
- Open it on a warm, still day. Cold or windy days make bees cross.
- Take honey from the top box. Leave the bottom box. That is their food.

What else you need
This is one box on its own. To run a hive you also need a floor at the bottom, an inner cover, a roof on top, and something to stand it on. If you do not have those, this box alone will not house bees. The box is about 20 inches by 16 inches. It looks small in photos because it is one box, not a stack.
When it comes
We pack it in 1 to 3 work days. It is then on the truck for 2 to 8 work days. You get a tracking number by email when the truck scans the box.
