Some black dresses just sit there; this one moves. A layer of sheer mesh flares out under the velvet skirt, and flared mesh cuffs do the same at the wrist, so it still reads dressed-up when you're standing still.
- Sheer mesh flounce hem. A ruffled mesh underlayer flares out below the velvet skirt for movement.
- Flared mesh sleeve cuffs. Long velvet sleeves open into a wide, sheer mesh flare at the wrist.
- Relaxed, dropped-waist cut. Skims the body rather than clinging, with no fitted waist seam.
- Plain round neckline. No collar detail, so the hem and cuffs do the talking.

100% polyester velvet, with a sheer polyester mesh at the hem and cuffs. Follow the care label.
Worth knowing
The hem sits around mid-calf on most heights, and the mesh layer is sewn in rather than removable. The dropped waist gives a looser fit through the middle than a fitted style.

How to measure
A Chest: straight across, armpit to armpit. Double it for the all-round figure.
B Shoulder: seam to seam across the back.
C Length: top of the shoulder down to the hem.
D Sleeve: shoulder seam to the cuff.

Is the mesh see-through?
The mesh flounce at the hem and cuffs is sheer, but it's an outer layer over the velvet skirt — the body of the dress itself isn't see-through.
Will it cling or show every line?
No — it has a relaxed, dropped-waist cut that skims rather than clings, so it doesn't follow the waist closely.
Is it warm enough for winter, or more of an evening piece?
It's a long-sleeved velvet dress, so it carries more warmth than a jersey dress, but the sheer mesh panels mean it works best layered with tights and a coat rather than standing in for one.
Will it look like the photos?
The colour, fabric and cut you see are what we send. If it turns up damaged or not as described, email us a photo within 30 days and we will replace it or refund you, including postage.
When will it arrive?
Usually 10 to 17 days from order, tracked all the way; your estimated arrival date is shown above. Order several pieces and they can come in separate parcels, each with its own tracking.
What if it doesn't fit, or I change my mind?
You have 30 days from delivery. Send it back unworn, with the tags on and in its original packaging; socks must still be sealed. You pay the return postage, with no returns fee on top.
Will I pay anything on delivery?
No. Prices include UK VAT and there are no customs or import charges to pay.
